Top Seed Hopefuls Take a Hit

Not much of a change near the bubble, other than moving Texas to the last team in the field with Tulsa and UCLA right on their heels.

The notable events of the week occurred at the top of the bracket, as Wisconsin (at Maryland) and Kansas (at Kansas State) both lost on the road. The Badgers are still in position for a No. 1 seed, though they fell to No. 6 on the seed list, with Gonzaga at No. 4 and Villanova sitting fifth. Kansas, on the other hand, is now eighth on the board and with six losses and no team above them having more than three losses, it will be difficult for the Jayhawks to reach the top line, despite the fact they are second in RPI.

Let's take a look at the bracket heading into the weekend, the second-to-last bracket before conference tournaments begin on Wednesday. (Bracket Matrix)

Last Four Byes: Illinois, Cincinnati, LSU, Georgia
Last Four In: Stanford, Oregon, Purdue, Texas
First Four Out: Tulsa, UCLA, Boise State, Davidson
